1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Styrae ("we", "our", or "us") accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Styrae mobile application, website, or related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

• Your email address, name, authentication identifiers, and account details.
• Information received from Google if you choose Google sign-in.
• An optional profile image if you choose to upload one.
• Onboarding preferences, such as the clothing types you wear most and your style preferences.

Wardrobe, outfit, and AI feature information

• Clothing photos you upload or capture, together with wardrobe details such as item name, category, colors, material, occasions, seasons, notes, and wear history.
• Saved outfits, outfit thumbnails, collections, likes, and calendar entries.
• AI stylist chat messages and AI-generated responses.
• Today's Edit suggestions and related wardrobe context.
• Photos you actively select for virtual try-on generation, selected outfit images, generated virtual try-on images, and generated Prettify images.
• Reports you submit about AI-generated content, including the reported output, report reason, and optional details.

Location and weather information

• If you explicitly grant approximate location permission, Styrae accesses your current approximate location to request local weather.
• Before the weather request is sent, coordinates are rounded to one decimal place. Styrae uses the resulting weather and city information to provide local weather context for outfit suggestions.
• Styrae does not request precise location permission and does not track your location in the background.

Notifications information

• If you choose to enable Today's Edit reminders, Styrae stores your Expo push token and notification preference so notifications can be delivered to your device.
• You can turn reminders off in the App settings or revoke notification permission in your device settings.

Purchase and subscription information

• Styrae receives subscription status, entitlement details, purchased product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase timestamps, store information, and credit-pack events from RevenueCat and the applicable app marketplace.
• Payment-card information is handled by the applicable app marketplace. Styrae does not directly collect or store your payment-card details.

Website and waitlist information

• If you join the waitlist on styrae.in, we collect the email address you submit.
• Our website uses Vercel Analytics to understand website traffic and performance.
• Service providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser, device, network, and request metadata as part of delivering and securing the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
• Store and display your wardrobe, outfits, collections, calendar, and preferences.
• Analyze clothing images, remove clothing-image backgrounds, and generate wardrobe metadata suggestions.
• Provide AI stylist chat, Today's Edit suggestions, Prettify, and virtual try-on features.
• Provide weather-aware outfit context when you enable approximate location access.
• Deliver optional push notifications when you enable them.
• Process subscriptions, credit packs, entitlements, and purchase-related support.
• Receive and review reports about AI-generated content.
• Operate the website waitlist and understand website traffic.
• Diagnose problems, prevent misuse, and improve the Service.
• Respond to support, privacy, and deletion requests.

We do not:

• Sell your personal data, wardrobe information, or photos.
• Use your photos to train our own AI models.
• Track your location in the background.
• Use advertising cookies or sell your data for targeted advertising.

4. AI Processing

When you use an AI-powered feature, Styrae sends only the information needed to perform that request:

• Clothing upload: the uploaded clothing image is sent to OpenRouter for clothing analysis and to PhotoRoom for background removal. Styrae stores the processed wardrobe image in Convex.
• AI stylist and Today's Edit: your request, relevant wardrobe context, and optional weather context are sent through OpenRouter.
• Prettify: your selected clothing image is sent through OpenRouter for image generation and PhotoRoom for background removal. The generated processed image is stored in Convex.
• Virtual try-on: the full-body photo you actively select and the selected outfit image are sent through OpenRouter for image generation. Styrae stores the generated try-on result in Convex. Styrae does not persist your selected source photo in its database after the request is processed.

Third-party providers process requests under their own privacy policies. AI integrations and models may change as the Service evolves.

5. Third-Party Services and Sharing

Styrae shares information with service providers only as needed to operate the relevant feature, process a transaction, maintain security, or comply with law.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable notice requirements.

6. Data Storage and Security

• Account authentication and website waitlist information are handled through Clerk.
• App data, processed wardrobe images, saved outfit thumbnails, generated virtual try-on images, and generated Prettify images are stored using Convex infrastructure.
• Information is transmitted using HTTPS or other encrypted transport mechanisms supported by our service providers.
• We use account-based access controls so users can access their own wardrobe and related account data.
• No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We work to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the Service.

7. Retention and Deletion

• We retain account-associated information while your account remains active or as needed to provide the Service.
• When you use the in-app account-deletion control, Styrae requests deletion of your account and removes your Styrae-owned Convex records and stored files, including wardrobe items, outfits, generated images, calendar entries, chat messages, and AI-content reports.
• You can delete individual clothing items from within the App.
• Waitlist emails are retained while needed to operate the waitlist or until you ask us to remove them.
• Service providers may retain limited records as required by law or under their own retention policies.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for optional processing.

You can:

• Delete your account from the App settings.
• Delete individual wardrobe items from the App.
• Disable approximate location access or notification permission through your device settings.
• Turn Today's Edit reminders off in the App settings.
• Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information.

9. Children's Privacy

Styrae is not intended for children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age required to consent to personal-data processing in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. If we learn that we collected personal data from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies required for authentication, waitlist functionality, security, and website analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data for targeted advertising.

11. International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use providers and safeguards appropriate for international processing.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
